I've played for 30 years started out with just a single pedal. I hate drum triggers, i used them on one album and got rid of them. My theory is all natural. Paul Bostaph, Dave Lombardo, Gene Hoglan, John Tempesta, Richard Christy, etc. When these drummers use double bass there are no electronics involved. And if their feet get tired you'll know. That's "real" drumming. No steroids. :o) No offense trigger users.

@metaltourrettesguy Gene, Paul and John all trigger....They are all also friends of mine. It has nothing to do with speed and its not cheating. Im also a very hard hitter. I only rely on triggers so I have a solid sounding kick live.

I played for the band Byzantine, (mostly known for getting signed by Lamb Of God). Ever heard of them? I can't believe you got the Soulfly gig, lucky bastard!! You must be on clouds dude. lol

@metaltourrettesguy lol of course I read it. Ya, Soulfly is a great time, but I dont let it go to my head. I still have to work hard for what I want in the band. Anyhow, I wasnt being a jerk...I was half out of it when I responded. Our soundguy actually combines trigger attack and mic'd low end for my kick sound live....I get what youre saying though. You arent the 1st "ol skool" drummer to bring up the trigger deal haha. Cheers man.

@metaltourrettesguy Oh it's cool, hell i listen to Madonna a lot when i'm not playing..NO SHIT!!! ha She relaxes me. I was endorsed by Mapex for years, now i'm with Tama (just on my own). Love em. I have some covers posted on my page, nothing to "metal" just some Maiden, one of ours, and one Lamb Of God song. Just practice stuff. Love your playing on your vids, great stuff. :o)

well done on joining soulfly, can't wait for the new album. 1 question....will you be adding percussive parts to your kit for all the tribal sections. i would imagine you would have to loose some cymbals and mabey a couple of toms to make room for the percussion. is that the case? i would imagine that a lot of the left side cymbals would have to go. have you figured out your new setup yet and what new drums have you had to buy or borrow?
