@NoGuff Yet it matters what words we use. Criminal is used to stigmatize them to the fullest. A jaywalker is also a lawbreaker. To argue that illegal immigration is bad merely because it is illegal avoids the threshold question of whether we should prohibit this kind of immigration in the first place.

@NoGuff Illegal aliens may or may not be. If one overstays a visa and become unlawfully present as a result, they are an illegal alien, but they break civil, not criminal, law.
