Ein Vergleich der Performance von FinalCut Pro und EDIUS 6.
In this video i'm comparing the performance of FinalCut Pro and EDIUS 6 on a MacPro Quad Core 2.66 Ghz with Mac OSX and Win7 (bootcamp).
(English subtitles available).
Please keep in mind, that this is just a comparison of the playback and render performance. Of course, FCP has it's strengths - but obviously performance is none of these.

  • @recail your totally right

  • @jbx907 i have do many with edius in no time, since i tryed edius i no longer search for a better software because there isnt:,its so fast even with a home pc

  • @recail ive tested every software out there, i agree, i really thought i had to have the DV storm engine to work real time, i was surprised even without hardware it still so fast, i tried 3 layers with 3 efx and played seemlessly, even exported faster the the length of the video! edius rocks!

  • with his example with transform, add softfocus with edius and try it with final cut, and let export the same length to a file, ill bet you edius would even eat any rendering

  • there no problem with edius, it has been that way even when it was still version 3, if you only use all default fx and transition in edius, everything is real time! thats why adobe used to take edius efx as plugin.

if your taking about point edit, you lack the knowledge of using the software, it can do 3 and 4 point edit, you just dont now how to edit if if goes everywhere!

you can see how simple the PIP and final cut needs to render that, lolz! edius even 3d tranform that still real time

  • someone, add it subtitles :D

  • The real problem with Edius has nothing to do with its performance. It's useability. or lack of useability. Try some time line edits where you an in point and out point and then lift or extract something, you're screwed because the playhead goes somewhere else and you have to bring it back to the edit point. That's terrible programming. It makes the NLE completely inefficient.

  • You can also make all of your adjustments to your material while edius is playing a sequence. So tell your boss he's a dick.

  • @ErikRicardoLC you made it crystal clear and i APOLOGIZE for not separating you from the people you were referring to in my reply and i hope i didn't offended you.

people who think like your boss are the reason why so many things are either overrated or underrated.

Grassvalley should make an Edius version for OSX and Linux so you can meet your boss halfway like when FCP came editors were using Avid, Premier Pro and Media100 on Macintosh machines and slowly FCP got its share of mac NLE users.
