Okay. That the cherub was positioned to guard the tree of life does insinuate that Adam and Eve could live of it indefinitely. But still, God was at least being disingenuous. If I give you a can of rat poison and say if you eat this you will die, would you expect to live another 900 years? What he should have said had he intended to be truthful is that the fruit wouldn't kill them, he would. The serpent was still telling the truth.

@Blackmark52 if all trees are trees of life, why was one singled out specifically and reffered to as the tree of life? they were expelled from the garden and the cherub with a flaming sword stopped them from coming back in so they wouldn't be able to eat from the tree of life
-
@Blackmark52 what about the fact that god said if you eat the fruit you will surely die, and then after they eat the fruit and are expelled from the garden they eventually die?
-
@lookatmepleasesir I think that argument is just made up. The bible does not say Adam and Eve were created immortal. The closest thing you can refer to is "the tree of life also in the midst of the garden" but that doesn't necessarily imply immortality. Are not all fruit bearing trees essentially "trees of life"? Also, the very famous command "Be fruitful, and multiply" strongly suggests that humans would have the life cycle they do now.
Now, about the second lie...

@Blackmark52 god in this story said that adam and eve would have the knowledge of good and evil. He also said that they would die from eating the fruit, which was true. Before eating the fruit they were immortal.

The serpent didn't lie. He said god was lying, that Eve wouldn't die if she ate the fruit and that was the truth; he said the fruit would give them knowledge such that god coveted for himself, and that was the truth.

Sometimes I have to think tha the world is a giant game of the Sims on some higher supercomputer where a being just jumps in to fuck with people every one and a while to get in heir kicks. But the I realize that the chance that there is not a God is much more likely.

It's a bit annoying to me that videos like this still have to be made, albeit with constant fresh tweaks as to approach. Are there really any excuses for otherwise functional human beings to have a complete absence of discernment, between reality, & a set of stone/bronze age allegories & metaphors? Is the urge to live in a fantasy life so strong that if one is not a religious fool, then video games or some other fiction, has to dominate their minds, or there's little point in living? Pathetic.

Temptation is a flaw, and Eve was tempted by the snake, and Iv watched multiple videos all about genesis, and flaws and inconsistencies within it. YET I have never ever heard anyone point out temptation mixed with a perfect world and creation.
-
I tend to think a lot, mainly in bed, or I walk around the house for a while, and as far as I can know, no one [at least no one Iv seen online] has pointed out a obvious fact of the story. Eden was perfert, Yahweh made a perfect creation. Now according to the story Eve was tempted by the snake. Now I ask, isnt temptation a flawed part of a being? When it comes to alcohol or drugs, I suffer no temptation at all, Substance abusers ;temptation. Cheaters/adulterers; temptation.
Next time someone tells me god is watching me I'm going to go hide behind a tree :D

"Something rather odd happens..."
This explains most of the pages from ANY holy book. I would say the word 'odd' is mild and not too representative of the actual contents within. I would suggest the word 'crazy'.
