The beauty of training abs is they can be incorporated in to any exercise!! Take for example a regular flat bench press. If you perform the movement with your feet firmly together, you will be placing more demand on your 'core' muscles to keep you body still and safe. The further apart you move your legs the wider your centre of gravity effectively becomes, thus making it easier to perform the exercise. As a rule I ALWAYS keep my feet together for any exercise, and I believe this has helped me in developing my abdominals, lower back, obliques and intercostals. Adding various twists and turns and changing angles often will keep the core guessing working hard. Calisthenics are great for adding abdominal work to your sets. knee lifts, straight leg pull ups, one leg push ups, scissors and others can help to improve balance and rip muscle to shreds!!!

  • Out of curiosity, what does your waist currently measure, relaxed? Also, do you worry that the intense, weighted routine that you do for your abs while making them very strong, may bulk up your abs and obliaues to an extent where they aren't asthetic, anymore? I guess it all depends on whether your focus is strength or looks.

  • @MD5 my waist is 31 inches, the body can be made to 'appear' to have more muscle if the proportions are correct...wide shoulders and lats ahead of thickness in the shoulders and lats, tight midsection with well developed ( bot not overly) obliques, you are right tho, training abs with weights will thicken up the waist line a little if overused, that is why i like variety, and may only train abs with weight once in a week, or sometime once in two weeks...

  • question.. if previously i was fat.. is there any chance to get like that? even though i actually have loose skin cause of the wieght loss??

    O:

or getting like that is just a privilege for guys that have been skiiny and then got buffed??

  • @roockanrolla92 you can achieve anything you really want badly enough, especially when it comes to your physique! It will take time and lots of effort, but using correct techniques and eating wisely will get you where you want to be much, much faster! Check out my blog for some ways to get yourself started, and the basic facts about nutrition! Goood luck!!!

  • Especially when you consider the equpiment you use that has to be one of the best physiques around

  • @fightingfoo2 Thanks bro, i think its more about pushing yourself in anything you do rather than what it is you are actualy doing!! Ive seen guys bench hundreds of kilos and they cant do more than 25-30 push ups!! In essence, if something is difficult, there must be a way to make it easy!

  • ok I have a question about 2:04. What are exercises to develop those finger like oblique muscles? I'm NOT talking about the serratus anterior, which are the finger like muscles close to the arm pits 2:00. But the ones that touch the abs... I have them well developed on my right side but they are not very prominent on my left side and I really want to even them out! Any advice?
