Thames was the only ITV company that really gave the BBC a run for its money. The rest were all 'safe' and the BBC that wasn't susceptible to advertizing pressure followed where in the 60s & 70s it had been the leader taking risks that where somebody leads, people will follow given half a chance. Now? They're all Murdoch pap.

thames tv series beats the bbc's versions hands down as the bbc tried to force a studio audience on kenny, when it clearly worked much better with just half a dozen studio techs laughing their socks off in a deserted sound stage.
