Myk Henry "Never Ending Freedom" .MPG

This performance piece was done by Myk Henry at the Lumens Festival on Staten Island June 26th 2010.

Henry recruited volunteers from the audience by handing them various cliche patriotic slogans written on sheets of paper. ie: "America...land of the free, home of the brave". etc

Once 15 volunteers were recruited Henry asked them to form a circle around him while he hoisted a watermelon above his head. He asked an audience member to light a fuse sticking out of the watermelon. The fuse burned slowly toward the watermelon to the sounds of the "Star Spangled BAnner".

Kabooom!!!! The watermelon exploded showering the participants and audience with juice and fragments.
