@Truthrevealed21 Above freezing (32 degrees) is fine for Akita's outside as long as they have a dog house with a bed inside. A flap on the dog house door to keep out the wind helps a lot.
My Akita hates to be inside with the heat set on 68... he begs to go outside and sleeps outside his insulated dog house, if its below freezing I'll usually MAKE him come inside.

Akita were used by hunters in northern Japan to track bear, not "take down" that's an old wives tale that needs to end. As a show dog owner/breeder you should know better than to say that crap about the Akita breed. Any size bear could easily kill an Akita with one swipe in an actual battle. Track, corner, shoot is how bear were hunted with our Akita's.

Aww, she reminds me of my baby! He's 8 and has the 'rising sun' on his back. I don't get why some people think they're 'really agressive'; he's fine so long as you don't get between me and him if he doesn't know you and even then he only growls.

i have one his name is oreo , funny thing his whole body is white and he has a black mask everyone always makes fun of him for it but he's deffinetly unique !!
