I disagree. He's literally in a different world from the rest of the characters, and is telling the audience a story about his life. Who wouldn't be excited to tell such a rich, moving story?

@JShex it's not a new take though. all the productions that put this production have the little boy grossly overract

@FiyeroTrades its the way the character is directed to do it in every production. the kid in the video is my brother and i know he didnt want to do it that way but he was forced. im also friends with the kid who did it in the recent broadway revival. he also didnt like overracting it but it was directed that way
