This is my completed GM 253 V8 project engine. I learned plenty building this from the ground up, it now runs perfectly, very nice burble with a complete exhaust system fitted... or otherwise with straight pipes as shown here :-)

  • sounds like a bubble machine

  • @2nvabs Yeah, i've noticed that sound too on other vids of engines running with no exhaust... even little single cylinder types. Thanks for looking and commenting

  • Oh ow.. the "whoop whoop whoop" sound reminded me of my old VB/SLE that I had 12 years ago with the same engine. IIRC that sound is the mechanical fuel pump??

Man I miss my VB. It was a 79 model yet it had AC, power windows, power steering it was mint.

  • @intheshitter Yep, that odd sound was from the mechanical fuel pump.. probably 'cause it was running dry

  • is this the Same block you used with your other Videos?

  • Yep, it's the same engine, when completed. It now has a clutch and 3 speed syncro gearbox fitted to it. All I need now is a suitable chassis to fit it to :-)

  • this poor engine is being sufficated, my god take that crappy air cleaner off it and put a high flow.

  • @chomby1991991 You won't have to move the radiator, as in all Holdens, a V8 sits "two cylinders' worth" back from the front of where a 6 cylinder would be in the engine bay. The main problems you will have are "do I have to cut the inner guards to clear the exhaust?" and "is this driveline strong enough for a 253?"

  • Sweet! Sounds awesome!

  • sounds killer with no exhuast :P

  • thong clapper...lol ..thats funny...the 253 was a tradies motor in a ute worked well .but thats it good for nothing else theses days...buy your self a 350 or 454 chevy...u will have more fun ,,trust me

  • can u help me i have a flat spot in my v8 VH SLE 253 can u tell me how to tune it out when u flatten it it dies its dual fuel only running petrol atm
