@modaze Leadbelly didn't write it, but he's one of the earliest people to cover it. Nobody knows who wrote the song but it dates all the way back to the 1800's. Just like the song "House Of The Rising Sun" The Animals didn't write it, they covered it with perfection. Just like Nirvana did to this legendary tune.
