This short video shows use of both the Bernoulli's equation calculator supported by a Moody Diagram and a graphing program which graphs both the ground (or pipe) elevation from list data and the Energy Grade line which has a slope equal to (f/D)(v^2/2g). As the velocity changes perhaps due to a constriction downstream the slope of the line decreases both because the velocity head changes and because the friction factor changes (for plastic pipes). For rough pipes and turbulent flow it is just the velocity head which effects the slope cause the moody diagram is flat for rough pipes and turbulent flow.
