This is triple step ballroom jive - not East Coast Swing, which is six beat jive - quite different and more like rock and roll. Also East Coast Swing is a very fast jive - much too fast for the triple step shown here.

@jazzyjimg Just because it's not your concept of swing doesn't mean it's not swing. This is syllabus East Coast Swing; it's more for social functions and prepares people for Open and Pro. Try looking those up.

@defelice33 Actually no, it's not. If you look at a Jive syllabus and compare it to an East Coast Swing syllabus, you'll see they're completely different.

this is an east coast swing well done, boring as it may be they have good styling for the dance. i teach the dance and recognize the steps, so well done oaks well danced

I think they should still call it jive, that pathetic British imitation of swing. Yes they can dance but it lack soul with the limp wrist flips. Makes me sick. It's like robots. Swing is a people's dance and the ballroom dance instructors care nothing for music as witness the strict tempo counterfeits they play. I just wish they would take the broom sticks out and swing!
