@Mumija101 LOL. All you have done is assert that accepting a scientific theory ammounts to faith, got handed your hat then bailed out. Well done. If truth is more important to you than believing things on faith, all the evidence is there waiting for you. I suspect you have decided what is "true" for you and stopped all enquiry right there. @Mumija101 Evolution is a fact the same way as contagious disease is a fact. Natural selection is the process that best describes evolution. The germs and pathogens described in Germ Theory is the best explaination we have for disease. Heliocentric Theory states that the sun is it the centre of our solar system. It is a fact that the sun is at the center of our solar system, though in science it will never rise above the status of theory. None of these beliefs reqiure faith.

I am not a scientist (however I do study papers on evolution), the products of science, brought about by employing the scientific method, enable me to trust in science and accept many of its claims. Theories in science are never claimed as absolute truth, that’s not how science works. There must always be room for revision and change.

@Mumija101 This is not faith, it is belief supported by mountains of evidence. The resurrection of Jesus is not supported by reliable, repeatable, testable evidence. The claim that the Koran was dictated by god is similarly unverifiable, therefore you must use faith to believe in it absolutely. Your attempt to conflate these two positions is a mendacious lie used in desperation. Accept that your Islamic belief is faith based, stop trying to use reason and logic to support it

@leffehoegaarden Since we are resorting to commenting on youtube videos to have this discussion I assume you are not a scientist, have not witnessed the evidence for evolution yourself, haven’t studied the theory in depth and aren’t aware of the problems that arise out of proposing it. You belive that what you have discovered about it so far is correct, hence you have faith. As a muslim I agree that it is a beneficial theory but far from proof for me to reject my beliefs.

@leffehoegaarden What was peculiar about your post which is why I responded is that you went against this very definition you provided by attempting to dismiss Islam based solely on the theory of evolution. This to me displays that you have full conviction that the theory is flawless which makes you person of faith.

@leffehoegaarden Well thanks for recapping me on the definition of science. You say that there are no absolute claims in science and conclude that no faith is needed. I would like to disagree. You state one fact and then come to a bizarre conclusion which doesn’t logically follow. Yes, there is always room for new discovery, specifically on the theory of evolution which is far from conclusive and carries with it many problems.
