  • Cynic, death and atheist created tech death metal.

  • this is a testament of where Cynic WAS, when other bands were not even close to this skill. Now look at where Cynic is NOW. No one else even compares still, nobody sounds like Cynic. That is pure musical achievement and greatness.

Also, the Focus update of this song is a complete U turn from this. This is 80 to 90% differant..almost a completely differant song altogether.

Thanks for posting these Blasphemialeb, they are gems!

I'd love to see Cynic put a box set together with these demos!

  • Been waiting for years to hear this. Thank you

  • @prenticeanyonywright

lol ye, HUGE mistake on your part haha

  • I recommended a slipknot fan a cynic song, big fucking mistake, hes like "it's not organized normally, the growl is gay" I felt like saying sorry man paul should have shouted instead of growled and organized the whole song like your used to.

  • This shit is fucking great.

    \m/

  • I love this.. Thank youuu ;)

  • @Deathchult you've just been looking in the wrong direction.

  • @PanterAmetal100 thats paul man he was in danger of loosing his voice which is why he started using the vocorder i belive in not 100 percent sure on that but yeah it is him on the demo growling

  • @deadsurfkiss It's like Cynic have something to prove, almost. They started with brutal tech death and said "look, we can do this, now watch us do something COMPLETELY different with the same song!". Now it's like they're saying "no need to be angry, just let to music floooow".

If Cynic were assholes, it would be well deserved arrogance but they are so humble.

  • @Deathchult land of tears has some pretty innovative riffs. its a very unique song. the part where the song slows down with the harmonized stacked fifth chords is very death-esque ya, but its still has an complex structure and for the time was technical. i guess its all opinion...

  • @acdcguy2 well first of all I could not care less about today's music. Its rare to see a good new band and most of the time it had members from the old days of death metal. Innovative riffing is something that is in no way present. Half of the time it a mix of old Death riffs and Iron Maiden riffs. Atmosphere is there yes but also in just about any other album nothing special. Complex songs not in this one maybe their follow up but not this one. By the way this is my favorite album by Pestilence
