@dommi9877 it is a good story I am from Newfoundland and know it well .As for fault i would think they should have returned .With the over congestion of the boats they would known they would not been staying over night on the other ship .How ever it was wrong to Turn the men out on the ice late in the day dark comes early and with no light and shelter people would have died . So the fault would be on the father

@max42777 the dad! cause he sent the men back on the other boat. if he had not done that in the storm them they would probably be fine.
