Cho Yong Pil, is the best! I'm Jamaican and lived in Korea in the late 70's. The first song by CYP I heard was "Come back to Busan port" but after hearing 500 Years! this song is one of the most emotional songs I've ever heard. I feel the sorrow and pain in this song.....TEARS AND BEYOND.... Christophe

조용필에 대해 전혀 관심이 없을 때 이 방송을 보고 충격먹었던 기억이 납니다. 90년대 초반 추석 전야 명절 특집 쇼프로그램이었는데 처음에는 조용필이 다른 가수들하고 같이 명절 특집 프로그램에 나온다는 것이 좀 신기하게 다가왔었죠. 어렸을 적 그는 항상 자기 이름을 내건 단독 특집을 하던 사람으로 기억되고 있었으니까요. 이 방송에는 제 기억에 나훈아씨도 나왔던 것 같아요. 지금은 희미한 기억이지만요.. 그리고 보시다시피 한오백년을 부르다 오열을 했어요. 충격과 함께 아주 강한 인상으로 뇌리에 각인되었죠. TV에서 이런 모습을 보긴 쉽지 않으니까요. 나중에 십수년이 지나 알고보니 이 해가 조용필이 어머니를 보낸 해였고, 그렇다면 부모님을 잃고 처음 맞는 명절이었던 것인 셈입니다. 이 때 처음으로 조용필이란 한 수퍼스타에 대해 궁금증이 생기고 가끔 상상을 해보고 했던 것 같습니다.
