"Leave A Little Smile"

(1930)

Sung By
Charles King

From the All-Talking Picture
"Oh Sailor Behave" (1930)

This proved to be Charles King's last Hollywood musical before returning to the stage. It was released as the backlash against musicals was starting and so the musical nature of the film was downplayed by featuring the comic actors (Olsen and Johnson: America's Most Annoying Clowns - lol) in all the advertising.

  • Actually a complete 16mm copy survives at the "Museum of Modern Art"

I don't know if any 35mm copy exists however.

  • I also have this on 78, King had an unconventional voice, yet somehow pleasing and and endearing. Too bad the film is lost forever.
