Its all interconnected, we all know it!
But than again we human beings are nothing more than animals who fight for our "survival", i.e. living by our animal instincts! We are not able to plan for the long run, because as John Meynard Keynes said: In the long run we are all dead. To say it simplistically, we all fight for the most comfortable life in the short run, considering the long term effects only marginally.
