It IS a good example, though, of design that uses required accessibility devices to enhance a space rather than just tacking them on because they have to be there - you get all sorts of asshattery about that here in the US, where people claim they haven't installed an elevator because it'd ruin the look of the building. Like hell. Anyway, this platform elevator is quite elegant, and enjoyable to look at even if you don't get to ride it.

The so-called cool motorised platform, is to address the needs of all who are unable to participate in the staircase experience.

Under European Law (Act of 2006)the proprietors of any establishment are to not meerly provide an altenative but to go out of their way to ensure that disabled persons are accommodated in a manner that enhances the disabled person's experience.
