You're incredibly naive if you truly believe there aren't single mothers out there (as well as plenty of able-bodied men) milking the system for what its worth. I worked at a courthouse at one of the biggest ghettos in Massachusetts. A woman came in and told one of the probation officers I worked with that she was pregnant. He asked why? She said, "Because I want the child support money." By child support in this area it meant government aide, because most of the fathers were in prison. If you allow the opportunity to cheat the system people will. Conservatives and libertarians don't want to enable a mooching, dependent lifestyle.

There are women and men that commit welfare fraud but mysteriously there aren't any cases of women getting pregnant for 9 months and giving birth to get a few hundred dollars.

The UK has whole housing estates full of kids who get pregnant so they can get a free council house and live on benefits.

There is a reason the entire safety net system is guaranteed to (at the current rate) collapse within a couple decades or so, and why it is in the process of becoming completely insolvent... all the warmongering waste aside.

Child support is not welfare, even if its subsidized. By that logic every charity is giving out "welfare" because they are given tax dollars to some extent.

And I've lived in poverty for most of my early life, I know full well what its like and what people to to avoid it.

If you want to prove me wrong then do it, find one women out of the millions that has had a baby in order to get government assistance.
