So many people think Canadians cant own firearms. I do not understand this thinking! Canadians themselves think this more than anyone! People, please learn your rights! Firearms, are a fun, educational, life preserving TOOL. Know your rights, stand up for your rights, or you may, one day actually loose them!

@KingOfAwesomer I stand corrected, apologies. I was under the impression that the 858 was merely a new designation for the Vz58s that have been around for a while, and which I've always seen to be restricted.
Thanks for correcting me, it's good to know.

@redzephyrr pal, 858 is not restricted, Just like a ruger 1022,or old cooey semi auto 22,
vz/cz85 has a short barrel andis restricted
and similar looks do not mean it is a variant.Usually:) sometimes stuff gets restricted/prohibbed just on the rcmp/political say so.But Legally that should not be the case, CZ is a semi auto only in canada.it is not a ak variant,It just has a big scary mag:) We like scary guns.they are like all the other guns,And are great for shooting pop cans

The CZ858 looks vaguely Kalashnikov-y, and that's about where the similarities end. It is not an AK variant of any kind, and it is perfectly legal with an RPAL.
