I'm sorry, but John Legend does not belong in the same group as Dolly Parton, Jackson Browne and Don Kirschner.

@tomthumbtoo You have no taste in music or any knowledge of real poetic songwriters!!!! Jackson Browne is one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Comments should be disabled because of the stupidity of idiots like you. Someone should give you a bottle and put you to bed, you immature "adult want-to-be"!!!!

@tomthumbtoo yo, got me some o' tom thumb's blues; trollin' for reaction on the net-you got nothin' to lose. But you gotta wake up with yourself and you gonna look yourself in the mirror...JB...always has remained true to his craft...a true folk legend...and that is essentially where all music comes from, past, present and future...poor tom thumb...

Wow. How someone so ignorant of JB's contributions to and influence on music could even be on a page interested in music boggles the mind. I feel bad for people like that. Yo Tom...Ever hear of The Eagles? Stevie Ray Vaughn? Tom Rush? Linda Ronstadt? The Byrds? Nitty Gritty Dirt Band? Joan Baez? Nico? Read their song credits sometime.

Wow to show how ignorant you are when you write Jacksons Brownes body or work is weak and he is a minor talent? That must be why he has a permanent exhibit of his body of work in the Rock and Roll hall of fame? He is also consistently listed as one of the greatest influenecers of young musicians of both his and other generations.

You wouldn't know real talent if you fell over it. Jackson Browne is a legend
-
its sad so many good old classic pop/rock musicians aren't honored while modern untalented people are

@tomthumbtoo Poor Tom Thumb!!! You have such a critical spirit, and are to be pitied. I can only imagine what a small existence of a life you lead, as it would take a very small brain to make such ridiculous and negative comments towards one of the most gifted talents. It seems par for the course that a small brain fits with the name Tom Thumb, you don't even know how to use capital letters correctly!!! GROW UP...IN EVERY WAY!!!
All deserve respect, but I can't believe it took this long for Jackson to be honored. Songs early in his career, from poignant "Fountain of Sorrow", "These Days", and "For a Dancer" were enough in themselves. But he went on with "Lives in the Balance", one of the most powerful songs that unfortunately, will not likely lose it's relavance in my lifetime. Jackson's lyrics deserved an award decades ago -- but I don't think he writes for praise and accolades. He writes to find and speak truths.
