Looking up the definition of "classic game", Pilotwings for the SNES should be one of the reference titles. My 3rd cart for the Super Nintendo, I have finished and played this over and over, always feeling a fresh experience due to its unique way to take on the several flight lessons. It was many months later I found out about the hidden bonus stages like the one on the video. I do hope Nintendo brigs htis back to Virtual Console, both SNES and N64. Let's dream with DS and even Wii versions!

  • lol im sorry but my 3DS version is so much better =(

but this is classic, and without 3DS version wouldnt exist =)

  • @GenralosityXL I also have the 3DS version but there will always be a place in my memories for the original (my 3rd SNES cart, no less). A bit unfair to compare something from 1990 to something from 2011. The Nintendo 64 version is still the one that offers more variety, tough.

  • it was luck

  • @bcourter82 In my experience, there is no such thing as luck.

  • Use to hate the rocketblet level. I always ended up in the water and pissed off Shirley.

  • pp, MOTHER/EarthBound reference?

  • I always thought pilot wings started on the n64.....forgive my ignorance everybody :- )

  • oh damn I wish I played Super Nintendo version, I used to play nintendo 64 version.

  • priceless, thank you.

  • i liked the n64 version

  • i remember this imma play it o my 3ds

  • @GenralosityXL Heh, I played Pilotwings Resort once, and I have to say it reminded me more of Pilotwings 64, than it did the SNES version. Have to say I still prefer the original 2 games, over Resort. (though Resort isn't terrible) Nintendo blew it by not making a Pilotwings for either the GameCube or Wii, plus actually adding a lot of features(a la the jump from Pilotwings to Pilotwings 64) to make it truly memorable and fun. Maybe one day, Nintendo will make a new Pilotwings game for Wii U.

  • Just started using the original ROM in the zsnes emulator in Ubuntu.

I literally cried when I finally loaded it up and memories from the days when I was just learning how to read flashed right before my eyes....

I never thought I would find this ever again because I forgot the title. This and Super Battleship are serious overdoses of nostalgia for me. Oh, and Donkey Kong Country as well ;D

  • OK, You're doing OK, but you could do better !

    I love this game.
