Objectives:
This objective involves viewing 1 electronic fire simulation, and working through the processes that you would normally find at an emergency scene. This includes, but is not limited to, size up, risk benefit analysis, determining your strategy, command, directing units, etc. Use your scene boards and practice tracking units as well. Get your command board and radio request an ops channel, and use your best radio voice. Also print and utilize the tactical benchmarks sheet in the Fire Learning System which is also located at P:\Operations\Training\Annual Training\RTO Reference\Tactical benchmark checklist.doc. This is a crew based exercise to be done with your shift commander present (The goal would be to have the hard bars and the crews run through the scenario with the shift commander present to create similar benchmarks and common language).

1.Send someone to get the site plan for East Hill Apartments. (2 maps: 1 for overall East Hill Apartments/Townhouses: 1 detailed map for the East Hill Apartment complex that includes standpipes, unit numbers, basement locations and lock boxes.) Note the creative lettering and numbering. Also note all the entrances that may have to be used depending upon which building you are sent to. This exercise involves Building C unit# 206
3.Discuss the following with your crew and shift commander
•Tactical benchmarks sheet
•Divisions and groups
•Pressurize vs. PPV
•Evacuate vs. primary search
