This is a young Ngara, so he hasn't developed his color. Typically I wait until the fish have developed color before I buy them but the owner of the pet store heartily recommended this fish so I bought him.

We'll see.

I also can't keep the camera off the red shoulder (another aulonocara stuartgranti) because he's my favorite fish.

  • how big is the aquarium looks a bit small to me

  • @foley890 It's 29 gallons. I sold it.

  • I had a little one inch Lwanda Peocock, and he never colored in the show tank, so I gave him his own tank with a few females, and his Color Popped out with in just a few weeks. I work at a fish store, and I notice whenever we get in most haps and peococks, there will be only one colored up, and when he sells, the next one up starts to show color in a few days, then hes the one that sells, and this cycle just keeps going till they are all sold.

  • @protazerg there always seems to be one dominant in the tank.

  • Never give the petshop water to the water in your tank....

  • @mreae I've got a 55gallon tank with 8 Ngara in it right now.. largest one is only about 3".. at this point, he is very dark (almost black) with a little bif of orange on his shoulders, and a nice white stripe on the dorsal.. I'll post a video for you later on tonight if I remember.. Ngara are the slowest maturing peacocks, but well worth the wait! Best of luck brother!

  • @joejitsu83 No . . . not sure.

  • Are you sure that he was a Ngara?

I don't think make Ngara have egg spots, but he clearly does.

    Your other peacock looks great.
