1GB of RAM in the mini 10V (inspiron 1011) is indeed not enough for Win7, well in my case anyway, it is very laggy, i've upgraded to 2GB, it's better but not by much, the Atom N270 processor is the problem, it's shit.
I've tried all different operating system on the 10v, Fedora 15, Ubuntu 11.04, Win7, OS X 10.6.6 they all run, but not fast.

msconfig and open upthose processors,if that doesn't work then try the 64 bit version dude

hey man I believe you because I'm running windows 7 on a 6 year old inspiron 600m with 512mb ram(for now until I get paid)and believe it or not runs real smooth ,wifi,audio ,video works decent and like I said it's temporary but I also installed w7 on an aspire one with only one gig and it runs optimal so FUCK THE HATERS!!!!! dell machines rock

@weejasonlnr It's not starter. It's Windows RC. And it's a very bad idea to install Starter on a netbook, because Home Premium is much better, and faster.

mini 10 lags with only 1 gig of ram , why bother with w7?....try multi task...u will see a lag.....Dell biggest mistake...not allowing EZ 2 gig upgrade
