In right top of screen there is a Score Counter... The Canyon Duel (or togue, like it's called for real) in NFSC is determined by this score... In the first stage, you got it, and in the second, you lose it. If the counter goes to 0 before you finish, you lose. You also lose by letting your rival pass for more than 10 seconds, or by falling the cliff. In real life, the winner is the first to pass, no matter how much stages the race needs to have.
