T Krishnamacharya (considered by many to be the grandfather of modern day yoga) would have yoga lectures back in the day. He would sometimes demonstrate yogasana (yoga postures) while lecturing. There were times when he would demonstrate 69 sirsasana vinyasa (headstand variations). Here I am demonstrating the 7 headstands of K Pattabhi Jois's (Krishnamacharya's student) Ashtanga Vinyasa Second Series as practiced by David Swenson. Nowadays, the headstands are taught with the supported headstand first, while Swenson learned it with tripod first. No big deal.. just a shift in sequencing. I threw in a couple poses at the end because I had so much prana (lifeforce) flowing when performing this. In-joy :) Ricky T.
Great video thanks for posting... I can't wait to test these out like you've just done as one continuous flowing movement... Very inspirational. Thanks for posting. : )
