Python Swallows Deer Whole

Here's something you don't hear about every day. A python near Pune city in western India state swallowed a whole deer on Christmas day. But it wasn't the easiest of meals to keep down. Please be warned that this report may contain graphic images.

STORY:
About 30 miles outside of Pune, a farmer couple in Mulshi village were taken aback when they came across a 12-foot python lying in their field with a swollen abdomen.

The python seemed lethargic as it lay still.

Soon, frightened villagers collected at the site.

Volunteers from "Friends of Nature" then arrived . and identified the snake as a rare Indian rock python.

The python was trying to eject its victim as it was probably too large to digest.

[Naina Aabale, From "Friends of Nature"]:
"He took 10 minutes to vomit it completely. As it kept coming out, it looked like the barking deer species, and it came out. For about 2 minutes the python did not move because the head of the barking deer was stuck in its jaws and it was not moving."

It was later found that the animal was a Chinkara deer, which the python finally managed to eject.

The python was taken to a secluded place in the jungle where it's being treated for internal injuries.

This reporter is stupid. Snakes eat deer all the time. The only reason it spat the deer up was because the crowd spooked it and it felt vulnerable with that large meal inside it since it impairs its movement. If not for the crowd it bet it would've digested its meal.

@kjw19stl How is the reporter stupid....? That's not something you see all the time retard, when was the last time YOU saw that? The fact that it was caught on camera, in a village with the deer still intact and with such great footage makes it uncommon. And snakes dont eat dears ALL the time, certain snakes which are big enough do. Figure it out bro.

@kjw19stl Pythons should eat things twice the width of their main bulk. As you can see, that deer is quite a bit more than twice the width of the snake. If a snake eats something too big for it, it can end up splitting, like the burmese python that ate an aliigator.
