Poor guy! He looks either constipated or he's getting dropsy...Either way, he doesn't look happy and he's not "rare" at all. Just because he lost his eye doesn't mean anything...It just means that it seems like you don't take care of him

This betta is very similar to my old betta. What your betta has experiened at some point of his life is a disease called 'pop-eye'. Pop eye can be caused ither from trauma (fighting etc) or disease (poor water conditions etc). Treatments for popeye are usually availible from your LFS and by maintaining good water conditions, use of epsom salt may help too. My betta still had his eye but was permanently blind and his eye clouded over.
