Ipswich Old and New, Ugly and Beautiful, Side by Side.

I live in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. It's a very small town close to the sea and surrounded by countryside and I love living here. The old and new sit side by side and it's always changing. Some of the old is preserved but the rest is regenerated. Constant change with some respect for the past but also an eye to the future. Recorded 2nd Nov 2007, illness has delayed upload.

@flydarling Well they're having to take the top 8 stories off as it's now a health and safety risk due to the concrete crumbling!

@GleeOnlineHD That's a shame we always wonder about it as we drive past. I know there are different sorts of concrete - bridges are meant to be out in the weather but the bones of a building aren't. Thanks for the update. cheers, Lesley

they have toatly messed up ipswich i mean i live there yet what they have done to the docks is just stupid and i mean i use to walk down the docks with my familey yes 10 years ago the docks were a bit Trashed but 10 times better than the crap now!

@GTANIGTH Different people look at things in a different way. It's certainly changed and become a lot more mainstream. I think the changes are mainly good. I'm glad they're bringing things back like the maritime festival. Cheers, Lesley

@wolfieman2003 Thank you for the great comment! Sorry for the late reply we haven't had internet for over a month - building work and dead routers. It sounds like you're a kindred spirit and able to appreciate that there's a lot of great things to be said about living here. Varied countryside, rivers, lakes and the sea on our doorstep I feel really blessed. Cheers, Lesley
