@jack1997110 The time for a dominant 'superpower' is over. Only co-operation between nation states will ensure the survival of this planet. The financial chaos is a good example, as we are too connected with each other in trading and finances. Also the enviromental aspect, as the pollution of one nation will affect surrounding states as well. Now let's hope the leaderships of every nation states, and the people of this planet will understand this at all...

@jimmyjamesWang: What I believe (and really hope) Obama is doing now is taking the US to a Social-Democratic (like the Nordic Countries) state of economic development: a positive involvement by the state, while allowing commerical enterprise to flourish. Maybe the wording of 'Socialist Victory' used in my early comment wasn't appropriate; 'Modern Socialist Victory' would be more appropriate.

How come CCTV didn't use the Nordic Countries as examples? Not 'Great' enough for Beijing? ;-)

@jimmyjamesWang, there's no denying that a 'pure' model will never work for any nation: complete capitalism(or liberal. 'laissez-faire' economy) doesn't, nor a Socialist/Communist (USSR ver.) either. What Roosevelt did is using the reserve of the State to create projects for employment and job, an idea originated from John Maynard Keynes. Stimulus packages, govt. interventions and others things that Obama and co. are doing now is the same as what Roosevelt is doing then. (To be continued)

@nutterhaz, that method of thinking was problematic to begin with. In modern society, There really isnt the so-called purely socialist political-economical model nor the purely free capitalistic model. It is a mix. The difference is how it is mixed.

This is not a Roosevelt economic success, but a Keynes economic success. Obama is just doing the same thing again...
