And as a Briton I am fully aware ( as are most Britons ) of the American attitude towards Irish extremist groups and terrorist organisations, of the support and fund raising that went on for many years, buying bombs and bullets to kill innocent people. It's long been known that the Canadian gov't harbours terrorists. Tamil Tigers and various Sikh factions have set up their HQ in Toronto and have even had a PM attend their fundraisers. They hide behind the 1984 MultiCulturism Act and the RCMP and CSIS are too weak to act. The American gov't is wise to have some policy in place to prevent this garbage from flowing south.
