Mermaids - The Movie [7/11]

MERMAIDS is the story of the turbulent relationship between a flamboyant, outrageous mom (Cher) and her two daughters (Winona Ryder and Christina Ricci) who just want a normal, stable life. Socially rebellious and provocative, the mother is reluctant to settle down, even at the request of her two daughters (one of whom, despite being Jewish, longs to enter a convent). The unusual family has moved 18 times in the last 15 years, usually whenever Mrs. Flax senses she might have to commit to a relationship. But this time the girls hope the family will stay put, and their conflicting desires lead to a final, near-tragic result.

This movie isn't about mermaids, nobody is going to turn into a mermaid so can all the idiots still posting asking when the mermaid is going to show up just go watch something else.

You'd have thought that after watching more than half the movie they would have figured it out by now!

Believe in this quote: "You don't know what you have until it's gone..."

That last scene with Mrs.Flax arguging with her boyfriend is a really eye-opening scene to teach women out there to have a "little" trust in men who can actually be of good to you. Obviously, Cher's character is close-minded and lose that trust she once have because of her past experience...sad...because there are things like this happening in real life...out there!

Ok, the Ocean room ties with Punky's room from Punky Brewster as my favorite bedrooms from TV shows or movies. Punky's room was just as colorful, but had it's party piece which was her bed, which was a old flower cart. This room is awesome as well, with it's party piece being the rotating lamp with the ocean scenes cut in to the shade so that it when it's on, it really gives the illusion of waves and current of being on the ocean floor.

The character that cher plays is so close to my own mother it scary. I keep seein my mothers face instead of hers and een her looks somewhat remind me of my mothers.
