dev d depicts what is happening is real life today.

shah rukh devdas was a fantasy movie made for poor people of india who dream of fantasy and out of real life experience. that was such a shit movie. nothing showed there was possible in real life.

dev d is more like a true story something that the dilip kumar devdas was.

That is what the point is my dear friend. Dev d is a shit movie if u call it a devdas movie, devdas is the movie of a hero who lost love. dev d is abt a common man who found sex.

and it is this over emphasis of sex in the movie that is what they call as modern tinge on the devdas novel .... to such an extend that makes it cheap

I have read the novel and i would say the SRK movie is glamorous , yet is based on the novel and dev d used the supposed leverage of the novel.. 2 claim publicity.... it wouldnt have been such a crowd puller if the movie did not encash on devdas the novel imagine SRK had not made a version of devdas... wht are the odds that u n me wud have watched dev d. the dilip kumar movie is not in the recent media memory to actually give dev d the spring board it needed.

the shah ruck devdas was tore the novel into rags...it spoilt the delip kumar classic also..

dev d atleast achnoledges it is loosely based on the novel

sanjay leela bansale and shah rukh claimed to have made devdas completly on the book..and made such a crappy movie...

but for people like you who like fantasy and glamor rather than story i guess it was a great movie..

dev d is way better...

Devdas by SRK was one of the best dramas in d last decade. not dat i am a fan of SRK. :) and nothing personal
