  • the music is one of the many reasons why ghostbusters is an incredible movie

  • This piece of music is why I'm buying a theramin.

  • such a gorgeous theme! :)

  • i love that me too so lovely so beautiful that's a romantic music & makes me cry

  • splendida!!!

  • For many years I had always thought John Williams was the composer to end all composers along with a list of other favorites. While Williams work still never ceases to amaze me, I have really come to love and appreciate the sheer brilliance that is Elmer Bernstein. This piece is magical. It is almost like a religious experience for me because of its intoxicating, dream-like quality. Thank you so much for posting this. God Bless.

  • @JadyLester

I did not know that about The Beach Boys. Touche on being Interesting! :)

  • Youtube has videos on the Odnes Martenot, it's like a cross between a sort-of synthesiser (hence the electrical ethereal hum) but being a keyboard it can deliver greater control and sustained notes than a theramin where the pitch and volume are all modulated by the hand movements.

I thought it was a theramin too - it's a natural enough assumption though I thought it important to correct this, as I have the authoritative information from the CD sleeve and was surprised when I learnt of my error.

  • @richardhealy Interesting! That was my next guess, though I didn't know what it was called, it's what the Beach Boys used in "Good Vibrations," a close relation to the Theramin.
