If they substituted the name of any other horse for this movie, it would be much better. It's going to be problematic for anyone who's seen the new (accurate) Seabiscuit movie but, hey, it has a horse in it, so here it is. And bear in mind: it was made in the 40s, so there are some rather annoying stereotypes in this movie, too.
Renowned horse trainer Sean O'Hara and his neice Margaret travel to America to escape the memory of a fatal accident that befell Margaret's brother Danny, who died during the famous Grand National steeplechase when his horse took a fall. Sean continues to train horses in the bluegrass of Kentucky, and takes a liking to a yearling named Seabiscuit. Although he attempts to convince the owner that the small horse with a big heart wil become a champion, eventually Seabiscuit is sold, but after Sean changes jobs he encounters Seabiscuit again, now owned by Charles and "Mrs." Howard. Under Sean's care, Seabiscuit, of course, becomes the champion he envisioned; Margaret marries a jockey who retires after a life-threatening injury, and all ends well.
