See Amtrak's California Zephyr make it's station stop at RENO at street level. Follow the Zephyr as it heads Westbound at Street level, making noise for every street crossing. Date is June 4th 2001.

  • So Amtrak stops at a different station today?

  • No they still stop at RENO but the stop is below ground level in what is called the RENO trench. All trains now run below street level.

  • Dang nice historical video!

I moved to the Reno, Nevada area in year 2004 and I was able to shoot a hand full of videos of Amtrak and freight trains above ground before the Reno train trench was completed in year 2005. If you cruise by my youtube account you can see a few above ground Reno RR videos.

  • @Amtrakroadmaster yep i remember when they were working on the trench and why they had to make the trench
