Introduction to a long-overdue explanation of the greatest (and most-often repeated) association fallacy known to mankind. Personally, I find it interesting that our intuition can do more to analyze a situation than a thousand years of rhetoric, and yet the very same intuition can lead us to a failure of reasoning that our rational minds can't seem to escape on their own (scientists and philosophers included)

=======================

The difference between design and creation (ex nihilo) is that design is (to use Behe's phrase) "a purposeful arrangement of (pre-existing) parts" whereas creation, in the religious sense, is the genesis of those parts.

This is not a trivial matter: this is a distinction that weighs heavily on the theological discourse, as I will explain.

    If you had to abandon your argument of intelligent design in favor of creation ex-nihilo, that means your argument of design lost. Creation ex-nihilo and intelligent design are fundamentally different things, you cannot use one position to defend the other. That is one of main points in the video, in case you didn't notice.

  • @TrenchantAtheist Well that went over your head. No just having an IQ does not make me supernatural. God is all power. Just because you do not understand God or know all the knowledge doesn't mean He is not real. Man does not know all the answers. Nothing can create anything from nothing. Man can not create anything from nothing. Matter can not create anything from nothing. The logical choice - only God can create anything from nothing. I have a cool video I think you would like to see: )

  • @starsapphires I'm sorry, I can't get over the fact that you think that having an IQ makes you supernatural. That is really funny! Apparently you're just "less" supernatural than most everyone else.

    What a world...

  • @starsapphires "What is the probability that harmony in human engineering alone just happened?... You believe in magic..."

    What do you mean, 'just happened'? Are you kidding? You're saying that intelligence is magic? Sorry, kiddo, no - watches and cars and space shuttles exist because humans are intelligent, and no, it's not magic.

    "Actually there is proof..."

    Oh so you have proof, but you just didn't think it would be best to start with that stuff instead? Hah.

  • @TrenchantAtheist You are actually wishful thinking then. What is the probability that harmony in human engineering alone just happened? If you believe that, then you believe in magic because there is no way that can happen on its own. No way. Actually there is proof out there that God exists and not by viewing His creation alone on this planet and in the universe. There are other avenues too that atheists don't look into where God lets you know He is actually real (the supernatural) : )

  • @starsapphires I appreciate the attempt at assistance, but you have not thought through the *reason for harmony in human engineering. (Referring to Paley's famous "watch argument") - When I come across a watch in a forest, I too arrive at the conclusion that someone intelligent designed it. However, I also realize why watches exist, and why the gears must be in line - I always correctly conclude that a non-deity designed the watch (Besides, deities don't need to know the time, anyway)

  • @starsapphires The point of this series is to explain that your argument is exactly the reason why gods do not exist. I agree that this universe is not an "accident", but neither is it the result of the work of a deity. You see, gods do not need their universes to be "perfect balance" in order for them to function as intended. That's because they are...*gods

    (Balance is only needed in human engineering because we don't have the liberty of changing the rules by which things work; we're not gods)

  • @TrenchantAtheist Ah, yes but I am very afraid you are very wrong : ) God is very, very alive and well. The earth is in line and moves so perfectly and all of of the incredible creative life is alive because of the perfect balance in the world to maintain their existence. Oh no, this was no accident, no way, no way. I am positive of this. I only try to help you sir : )

  • @starsapphires Someone's gotta do it...

  • u think too much...
