No, hard trance and hardstyle are different genres but part of the subgenre of hard dance. Hard dance can be hardstyle, hard trance, nu- energy, hard energy, hardhouse ect, even jumpstyle and hardcore are known as in the hard dance subgenre too. Hardstyle has a harder kick and a rougher bass than hardtrance, most hardstyle nowerdays you would probably find is nu style, where the kick and bass are very hard.Look on google, hardtrance originated in Germany, hardstyle/ gabber originated in Holland.
