Happiness can turn into sadness so quickly that it's a bit scary. When you try to do things right and break your bad habits, succeeding becomes hard as the people around you make it difficult.

First, I had to get a ring for Abigail. But what kind of ring should I get her? How am I supposed to know what she would like? I was going to have to guess. I went out and found a man who made and sold jewelry. He instantly recognized me as the Prince and became nervous.

"Um, good morning, Your Highness."
I smiled warmly. "Good morning. Um, can you show me your rings?"
"Rings? Right over here, sire." I followed him to a small glass case that contained several diamond rings. I looked them over but one caught my eye. It had three diamonds and the middle one was in the shape of a heart. It was the perfect ring for her. "Do you like that one?"
I looked at him. "It's perfect. I'd like to buy it if that's not too much trouble." It was expensive but Abigail deserved the best. He gave me the ring and I rejoiced. I finally had the ring. But how would I even begin to ask Abigail to marry me? What would she say?

I went back to the castle and up to my room. I hid the small box in a drawer in my bedside table. I couldn't let Abigail see it. It had to be a huge surprise. I looked over at the beautiful girl that was sleeping in my bed. This is how I wanted it to be. I wanted to wake up to see Abigail right next to me in bed.

She was laying on her side, facing me. She was slowly breathing in and out and I had never seen anything more beautiful. I hated causing her pain and if I was going to marry her, I would have to see more of that. It would kill me to see how much hurt an event so happy would cause us.

She started to stir and groan. I smiled and leaned against the wall in the corner. I watched as she slowly woke up. "Mmm, Joe?" She reached her arm out but she realized I wasn't there. She sat up tired and looked over at the door. I walked up behind her as she ran her hand through her hair. "Joe?"
I came up behind her and whispered in her ear, "I'm right here."
She jumped and turned to me quickly. She clutched at her heart. "Joe, you scared me!"
I laughed at how scared she was. "I'm sorry. It was just so tempting."
"Well, now I'm mad." She turned away but I knew she was only playing with me.
"I know you're not mad. How could you be mad at me?" I started softly kissing her ear and she shivered. My arm snaked around her waist and I pulled her close. "You can't resist me," I whispered in her ear. I grabbed her hand and locked our fingers. "You know you want to kiss me."

I moved my lips down and kissed her shoulder and then her neck. I could actually hear Abigail's heartbeat and it was fast. I slowly turned her around and our lips met in pure passion. She fell back on the bed but held my shirt tightly in my hands, bringing me down on top of her. Our lips moved in an intense kiss where it all seemed to be of just us two.

Everything was so passionate that my hands got a little carried away. I pulled one of her straps down but she didn't seem to notice. I rubbed her bare shoulder as she tangled her fingers into my hair. Every motion was intense until a voice broke us out of it. "Joseph!" I looked up at my mother who stared at us with a disapproving look.

I quickly pulled Abigail's strap up and slowly eased off of her. Abigail's cheeks were pink in a second. "Um, hi, mother."
"Can I please speak to you in the parlor?"
"Sure." I turned to Abigail as she sat up in the bed. "I'll be right back, okay?" She nodded and I kissed her cheek, making her smile.
"Actually, bring her. This concerns her too."
I suddenly got nervous and I could sense that Abigail was very scared. I grabbed her hand and we both followed my mother out to the parlor. She turned to us and her eyes said that she wanted to kill Abigail. I wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close just to annoy her. It worked.
"Joseph, I have very important news. Christine said that she is willing to forgive you for bringing this girl and that the wedding can be next month."
"What? I already told you that I'm not going to marry Christine! I hate her! I'm not marrying her, okay?!"
"Why is this pest still here?! Send her home!"
"Stop calling her names! I love her!"
"She's pathetic. She can't stand up for herself and hides like a little mouse." Abigail was burying her face into my chest and I knew she wanted to cry.
"Stop it! I can't believe you would do this to her! And I am not getting married to her!"
"Joseph, you will do this. You're not actually going to let this girl get in the way of your happiness, are you?! Throw her out already!"
At that, Abigail pushed out of my arms and ran out of the room and up the stairs. "How could you speak about her like that?! That is it!"

It's about time he stands up to his bitch-of-a-mother!
I can't actually believe his mom dare say those things AND with Abigail there. It's just so...cruel.
The worst thing is, there is probably people like that in the real world--royal or not.
I think he should propose VERY soon. It's like killing two birds with one stone...One: Piss him mom off xD...Two: Because he WANTS to marry her and he loves her :D
