  • @MagicMusicMe They did pouder their faces alot but not waxed their Scarrs and stuff. That Is what they did in Georgian England.

  • @pamtime22 It's funny that you mention makeup. In fact, the makeup these women wear does not even compare to what they really wore in the 18th century. Women powdered their faces sheet-white and rouged their cheeks to the extreme. They even caked on wax to hid smallpox scars. Makeup for both men and women at the time would have been extreme and absurd by today's standards.

  • I like her, she had spunk. If you want to call that bitchy, well a lot of are! I would have screamed and kicked all the way to the guillotine. Wouldn't you? You think?

  • @blacktigerpaw1

I know she was told to have screamed but you had to face the guillotine, wouln't you do the same, honestly ? It's easy to judge when we're safe, away from revolutionaries !! And at least, tell why you think she's a bitch ! Because of films ? Most of time, historic films are based on the autor's opinions about history characters !! But if you think she's a bitch, well then !

  • @florelina59 Opinion is not fact. Du Barry was, to put it mildly, a bitch. When she faced the guillotine, she kicked and screamed. A bit cowardly, I might add. She and Marie Antoinette were not the best of friends.

  • @pamtime22 Some of them wore makeup, mainly the older women.

  • I love the historical accuracy, but I wish that the movie industry would not put too much makeup on the women and make them look more natural. These women were naturally beautiful and didn't wear mascara! LOL!

  • @MaisonLafitte

Well, as i said, everybody has his/her opinions !!!! It's MY opinion ! You don't have to agree with me ! Why are you saying such thing ? Because of the Prostitute past ? The problem is Sofia Coppola's film and the manga Lady Oscar gave a bad image of Madame du Barry !! They give a image of Madame du Barry as a shrew, a whore, a vulgar woman ! AND I THINK THEY'RE TOTALLY WRONG !!! I say "i think" to say it"s my opinion", not to say "i'm right"

  • @florelina59 GREAT LADY? SHE WAS A REALLY BITCH, NOT A LADY...

  • @rpeterhart

it depends of the way you see her !! I read about her and i like her !! But everybody has his/her opinons !
