Invitation for Bids on Renovating an 1891 Swiss-style Villa in Eidsvoll, Norway

Bids requested for constructing a new basement and a 2m x 6m addition in an existing 1891 Swiss Villa-style house in Eidsvoll, Norway. Deadline for receipt of bids is 31 January 2010.

The existing basement is only 180cm on one side and a small crawl space under the other half. The basement walls are made of large field stones which have settling damage. The house must either be jacked up or moved off the foundation (the estimated weight of the house is 25 metric tons).

The initial estimate can be basic, including simply the rough basement work. The eventual final bid and the extent of the job includes: (1) all necessary applications, (2) installing the new basement (with proper insullation, draining, and water-based heating in the basement floor), (3) constructing the 2m x 6m addition, (4) installing a septic system, e.g. minirense or infiltrering (we have kommune water already installed). Optional portions of the bid can include: (1) finishing the basement rooms, (2) finishing the basement bathroom, (3) installing all electricity in the new basement and addition.
