Ships floating on sulphur hexafluoride are quite popular with the public at the Physikshow of the University of Bonn! The clue is that sulphur hexafluoride is much denser than air and therefore light things can float on it!

  • were can't I buy the hexafluoride of sulphur??

  • @SOhio142 1. it's not less dense because of the shape. It's because of the substance, which is aluminium.

    2. From your other post, a gas is NOT a fluid, it flows LIKE a fluid, but it isn't a fluid or it would be liquid. And of course it's invisible. Oxygen isn't Green.

  • no you are just a giant nerd *phone rings with the FFVII victory fanfare*.....
