I have lost 5 lbs in less than 1 week on phase 1 so far!!! woohoo. Also I bought some recommended books that I will be talking about.

  • Also when you got to the other phases your weight loss would be a pound or two pounds a week because the first phase is to regulate your metabolism. I suggest to those read the book then you'll understand.

  • All those who are saying losing 5lb's in one week is bad is correct but if you are eating full nutrituous meals as advised on the sbd you will lose alot trust me. I'm on it and i lost 9lbs in one week i don't know how but i was just eating alot of food but the good stuff and it's only on phase 1. And i had a cheat 3 times! And never put the weight back on lol

  • im not trying to put a downer on your success.

    i think its great for you that its all going in the right direction. but how bumed out are you going to feel if the weight goes straight back on because you lost it too quickly in the first place?

  • its also agreed that you shouldnt drop your cal intake down to any less then 1200 cal a day for health reasons, otherwise your body will go into 'starvation mode'.

    so to loose 5 pound of fat a week you would have to be making a 2500 cal a day deficit.

    so your either are eating less than you should be to or burning 1700 cal a day with exersice! (i cant see how its possible as it takes me about 45 mins a day to burn about 400-500 cal) unless your doing 4 hours of exercise every day!?

  • loosing 5 pound in under 6 days isn't good.

    every single proper nutrition and diet site ive been on have all agreed that 2 pound a week is the healtheist way to loose weight. it will keep it off!!

    there is 3500 kilo calories (cal) in every pound of fat.

    to loos 2 pound a week i eat 500 cal less then i need a day and burn off another 500 a day with exersice, which comes to 7000 cal a week ( 2 pounds ) con....

  • I lost 5lbs in the first week too! Doesn't that feel great. What kind of things have you been eating? I would eat eggs for breakfast a salad for lunch and a turkey burger with veggies for dinner.

  • Arthur Agatston, M.D. is a Cardiologist, so his book "The South Beach DIet" was written because he used it to help his patients lose weight. It is a very sound program.
