Rush: Resist (Rush in Rio)

Eight years ago, Rush played Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on the Vapor Trails tour. This would be released as Rush in Rio. As part of the Vapor Trails tour, Rush introduced an acoustic rendition of "Resist," originally released on their Test For Echo album in 1996.

I personally believe that they should bring back this version of "Resist" for their Clockwork Angels tour. Does anyone agree with me? This is so beautiful: just Geddy, Alex and two acoustic guitars. Pure emotion and pure power.

Many thanks to my brother for being able and willing to take this video from the Rush in Rio DVD. He understands that I am a Rushaholic. I have loved this band for a year now, as of November 12, and will continue to love them for years to come. That is a promise.

Tues. nights my wife works late and I am left to fufill my Rush fix at the volume I desire. Rush in Rio is one of my most played and the crowd is unbelievable.

The Brazilian fans were the most energized and intense crowd I have ever seen in a Rush concert. Unbelievable, indeed. O_o

Though I love this song in its original set-up and love Resist's original bassline, I believe this acoustical version is purer to its words. I also am always amazed at the passion in Geddy Lee's voice! Rush, you will always be my favorite band!
