@scars2k2 Now it has been recalled in the US navy last year and and now just a few Halon extinguishers remain on aircraft carriers and places where fire could cause 100's of deaths yet these extinguishers are extremely regulated and users must be fully licensed and only use as much is needed and after use the operator has to justify the use of it in a formal statement process. All halon 1301 fire suppression systems have since been decommissioned. Hope this helps

@scars2k2 The only place exempt is an aircraft and they do not have halon 1301 systems they only carry 1.5kg 1211 halon extinguishers and they're illegal if it cant be justified or a full extinguisher is taken off the plane by anyone except a licensed hazardous waste carrier. Also death by halon is a common occurrence due to the ineffective evacuation time. British police also use it but only if there is an immediate danger to officer life in a riot as a result of a Molotov cocktail.
