Our fund-raising campaign goes on!

We are donating this terrific yirdaki made by the great Terrence Gaypalani Gurruwiwi to the cause. The instrument plays in the key of F fundamental with G# overtone, with a length of 128 cm, mouthpiece diameter of 29-30 mm (with a little bit of sugarbag), and a bell size of 9-10 cm. It tips the scales at 2.6 kg.

Anyone who has done their research will know how rare, and how expensive, Gaypalani's instruments are. We are not selling this instrument, but giving it away :-)

We recorded Djalu's son Vernon Marritjngu playing this yirdaki in Arnhem Land shortly after purchasing this yirdaki from Gaypalani. It was undecorated then, with only a red background to seal the instrument. But now it looks entirely different and has been painted by Djalu's granddaughter Dolpuyngu #2 with Wititj (Rainbow Serpent) design.

As part of this fund-raising campaign, we are appealing to all our YouTube subscribers, friends, fellow didgeridoo enthusiasts, and supporters to make a donation by following the link below:

http://www.ididj.com.au/ididjphilanthropy.html

The person who makes the largest donation by 6.00 PM AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time), 3rd January 2010, wins this didgeridoo plus free worldwide shipping. Winner will be announced in this video. You are welcome to make multiple donations, the total of your donations by 6.00 PM AEST, 3rd January 2010, will be counted as one entry.

This promotion starts on the 21st of December 2009 and ends on the 3rd of January 2010. Donations made before or after this period are not considered for this promotion.

Winner must supply name, delivery address, and contact phone number for shipping purposes.

Good luck and thank you to all who have supported us during the year!
