This is a demonstration of the serial IR communication of our design project. The notebook computer sends instructions to the base-station using serial RS232 communication. The base-station then sends out a modulated IR signal from the photodiode to the photodetector of the sweeper bot. The photodector on the bot demodulates the signal and sends the instructions to the microprocessor for movement of the bot.

  • Very impressive! ^^ Did you use optocouplers to protect your laptop?

  • We didn't need to use optocouplers to protect the laptop as we weren't using high voltage in the circuit. However we did use optocouplers to protect the MCU of the bot from high voltage being used to power the wheel motors.

  • amazing !!!! pls give some information iam trying to hard to find something like this .. iam very interest to buy it pls gime some information!! thx

  • Unfortunately we are not selling the bot for non-commercial use. I can try to help you out if you have specific questions. Keep in mind that you need to have a background in IC to complete such a project.
